Reading & Performing African Drama: How Wole Soyinka & Ngũgĩ wa Thiong’o influenced my work

Through plays like Death and the King’s Horseman and The Road, Soyinka demonstrates that to truly “read” African drama is to interpret performance as an act of communal healing and resistance.
